we recently spoke with CARA D. OF MILLENNIAL LOV3 to learn how she is amplifying her voice through her brand.

My voice deserves to be heard because....

I am uncharacteristically vulnerable and real about my life's struggles with anyone willing to listen. As a black woman, an attorney turned podcaster/creator, and a domestic/sexual abuse survivor, my perspective is one that I believe many young women can be motivated by. I hope that my story will help at least one girl who is struggling with her self esteem, self worth, or her passion.

I pursue every dream I can because I know I can

What does finding your voice mean to you?

I've always been outspoken and extroverted. But even as a child, and sometimes even now, I doubt myself and my abilities. Yet, my mom was the first person to tell me that the sky is not the limit, but the starting place, and that statement is what I now live by. I pursue every dream I can because I know I can.

Jordan Gill of The Kolada Group

Did your upbringing shape who you are today?

Yes of course! I was raised in a strict household, which taught me hard work and discipline. I've also been through sooo many things, so I'm one tough cookie! Put me in the lion's den, and I'll get out unscathed.

Describe your journey? What was your defining moment?

I've always wanted to reach the masses with my story, and when I moved to Dallas, I knew I had the freedom to do so. Further, after starting my first law firm job, I desperately needed a creative outlet. So, I thought about starting a podcast and did it.

Advice to someone in search of finding their voice in the entrepreneurial, influencer and creative space.

Just do it! Your strategies will change and the product will always get better the more you practice, but you will never pursue your passion if you don't just start doing it!

Who is_______?

Cara D. is the vulnerable (REALLY REAL) girl that is madly in love with her boyfriend of 9 years and is the best big sister and daughter ever! I wear my heart on my sleeve and love hard. I'm super loyal, and I make a mean crawfish cajun pasta!

Millennial Lov3 is the world's opportunity to eavesdrop on REAL conversations with Black Millennials about sex, love, being selfish AF...oh, and we are always praying that R&B comes back!

How will you continue to amplify your voice?

Our goal is to curate experiences for our listeners, from brunches to networking events to swanky dinner parties. We are also becoming influencers for several large brands and want to continue that. Millennial Lov3 will be a household name soon enough :)
